This is a blog for Geography 1202 created by Conner North.
With fjords, glaciers, northern lights, the Scandinavian Peninsula, vast mountain ranges, rugged, top-shelf coastlines, lush landscapes, dark winters, and beautiful summers where the sun never “sets,” I couldn’t resist examining the rich, geographically diverse Norway.
Tjøme, Norway |
Along with Norway’s conscious altering landscape, I’m intrigued to see how Norway came to be. The history, processes, and forms behind its serene scenery and formation, along with its Scandinavian neighbors.
I’m also half Norwegian and know absolutely nothing about Norway. Right now, I couldn’t even tell you what a fjord is, let alone how they happen, I could just tell you they’re “pretty.” I feel studying Norway’s geography will give me a greater understanding and appreciation for my both my heritage and the geographical processes that constitute Norway. I mean what kind of Norwegian doesn’t know what a fjord is?
